Is teeth whitening safe?

While at-home whitening and whitening performed by people who are not dentists can carry real risks, teeth whitening at Dr Levi’s is completely safe. Dr Levi is a dental specialist, with over 30 years of experience. Dr Levi would never perform a treatment that would compromise the health or stability of the teeth. There is absolutely no enamel damage when teeth are whitened professionally. Extensive research and clinical studies indicate that whitening performed by a qualified dentist is the safest and most economical cosmetic dental treatment available.

Zoom4

What happens during a Zoom4 teeth whitening session?

The Zoom4 whitening process is a carefully controlled treatment in which a gel, with hydrogen peroxide as the active ingredient, is applied to the teeth and exposed to the special blue light. This approach allows the gel to penetrate the enamel and dentin of your teeth very quickly, erasing discoloration.

Can Zoom4 whiten antibiotic stained teeth or non-vital teeth?

Zoom4 will not whiten teeth that have been stained by antibiotics or non-vital teeth (such as those that have been root canalled). The KTP Laser is able to whiten antibiotic stained and non-vital teeth.

The Zoom4 treatment will not whiten caps, crowns or fillings. These may need to be replaced if they no longer match the rest of your teeth after a whitening treatment.

Does Zoom4 teeth whitening heighten tooth sensitivity?

Many patients experience little or no increase in tooth sensitivity after tooth whitening. Those who do, say that any increased sensitivity fades within one to two days.

Smartbleach 3LT

What happens during a Smarbleach 3LT teeth whitening session?

First the teeth are cleaned and dried, and a protective coating is applied to the gums. Then the Smartbleach red gel is applied, and a specially designed illuminating mouthpiece is positioned in the mouth. The red gel is then activated by the pure green laser-like light of the Smartbleach 3LT. A Smartbleach 3LT teeth whitening treatment generally takes around 45 minutes, making it one of the fastest in-office teeth whitening treatments available.

Why is Smartbleach 3LT better than other methods of teeth whitening?

The patented red teeth whitening gel, which contains a special, non-acidic preparation of hydrogen peroxide reacts with pure green light to create powerful whitening effects without damaging the tooth enamel. There is virtually no dehydration of the tooth structure, meaning there is none of the loss of whitening through rehydration which is common with lower quality treatments.

Can Smartbleach 3LT whiten antibiotic stained teeth or non-vital teeth?

It may, but the KTP Laser would be the preferred choice. The KTP Laser system will whiten any natural tooth, and can be used on individual teeth.

Can Smartbleach 3LT whiten false teeth, veneers and fillings?

The Smartbleach 3LT treatment will not whiten caps, crowns or fillings. These may need to be replaced if they no longer match the rest of your teeth after a whitening treatment.

Does Smartbleach 3LT teeth whitening heighten tooth sensitivity?

No. Most patients feel nothing. Some patients report a tingling sensation during the treatment. No anaesthetic injections are needed, and no needles are used.

KTP Laser

What happens during a KTP Laser teeth whitening session?

Dr Levi applies the patented KTP gel to your teeth, then shines the KTP Laser onto the gel. A specific interaction between the pure green KTP Laser and the patented red gel whitens the teeth. This gel is exclusive to the KTP system and is the reason for the superior results.

Why is KTP Laser better than other methods of teeth whitening?

The KTP Laser treatment has been developed in Europe over the last fourteen years. Studies have shown it causes no internal or external damage to treated teeth. KTP Laser does not heat the pulp of the tooth as other teeth whitening systems can, so it protects the teeth during the treatment.

Can KTP Laser whiten antibiotic stained teeth or non-vital teeth?

Yes – this system is able to provide outstanding, long lasting whitening results on non-vital teeth (such as those that have had a root canal), antibiotic-stained teeth, damaged teeth and teeth which have not responded to other whitening treatments. Another fantastic benefit of the system is that the precision laser can be used to treat single discoloured teeth.

Can KTP Laser whiten false teeth, veneers and fillings?

The KTP Laser treatment will not whiten caps, crowns or fillings. These may need to be replaced if they no longer match the rest of your teeth after a whitening treatment.

Does KTP Laser teeth whitening heighten tooth sensitivity?

No. Most patients feel nothing. Some patients report a tingling sensation during the treatment. No anaesthetic injections are needed, and no needles are used.
